Polysulfide toner for warm-brown to red-gold image tone with direct toning. Indirect toning (after bleaching) is possible, but you should only bleach very lighlty. The bleached areas display a red-gelb tone after toning.
The shelf-life and working capacity of the solution are remarkably high. Dilution of 1+30 can be kept for several months. Only after heavy usage (more than 50 prints 24x30cm per liter at 1+20) is a light color shift to pure gold tone and a slower toning noticeable. The reason for this is a reduction in the pH-value. By adding an alkali like soda or potash, or a few drops of toner concentrate, you can easily regenerate the toner.
Dilution: for normal usage 1+20 to 1+100, for multi-color toning up to 1+500 or more.
Attention: Polysulfide toners work even at extremely high dilution! The toning will continue even during print washing, especially with wamtone papers. To truly stop to toning process, you can use a 10% sulfite bath after a thorough washing with multiple water changes. Alternatively you can use a washing agent (diluted 1+1 to 1+3) for this purpose.
